A Favor Please (December 2001)
This is Installation time of year for the lodges of District Four, except for Maritime which held theirs in October. Over the past years I have given many favors to the Brethren of the District. Now I am asking you to do me a favor. In order to have a good crowd at all our Installations, I am asking you to attend your own Lodge Installation plus at least one other in the District. You certainly can attend any others outside the District that you choose also. Our Brothers from the other lodges will appreciate you being there and so will I. Let's have a full house at each Installation and then plan to attend some Stated Meetings in the new year as well.
December 7th, Occidental installs at 7:30 p.m. at the Ballard Masonic Center - 2006 N.W. Market Street in beautiful downtown Baaaallard. Parking behind lodge in bank lots. Great Food and Fellowship afterwards. OPEN to all.
December 8th, Doric installs at 7:00 p.m. at the Doric Masonic Center - 619 N. 36th in Fremont, the Center of the Universe. Parking in the funeral home lot if you see a Square and Compass sign in the window by the Lodge doorway. Reception after the installation. These good Brothers will be happy to see you. Open to all. They will also be collecting toys for a local charity.
December 8th. Greenwood installs at 7:00 p.m. at the Greenwood Masonic Center - 7910 Greenwood Avenue. Parking is available at the Catholic School Grounds if you enter on 80th just west of Greenwood Avenue. Good food and great fellowship afterwards as always at Greenwood. Open to all.
December 14th, Green Lake installs at 7:30 p.m. at the Green Lake Masonic Center - 307 Maple Leaf Place, just across from Evans Pool on beautiful Green Lake. Parking should be available in the parking lot by the pool and on the street. Dinner before at 6:30 p.m. Good food and a great bunch of Brothers there. Open to all.
December 21st, Walter F. Meier Lodge of Research will install at 7:30 p.m., starting with a brief Stated meeting and then Tyled Installation. The new officers there would also appreciate your attendance. There will be a dinner preceding the meeting at 6:30 p.m., all at Seattle Scottish Rite Masonic Center - 1155 Broadway East. Lots of parking.
These fine Lodges are all eager to start the new year and will welcome you at any of their meetings. Always good food and fellowship and you might just learn a little about Masonry that you did not know before. I want to say Thank You to the 2001 Masters for their efforts lo improve Masonry and the countless hours they have spent this past year. Well done, Worshipful Sirs. You have earned your right to be a Past Master.
Please put on your calendar the date of Saturday, February 2nd. This will be the joint reception for the Grand Master by Districts Four and Five. It is planned to be at the Seattle Scottish Rite, starting at 3:00 p.m. There will not be an opening or closing of Lodge, but a prayer and Flag presentation. The Masters of the Lodges will make a brief report on their lodge and there will be a few speakers from Grand Lodge, along with the electeds giving some inspiring ideas. It will be over by 5:30 p.m. and then we will have a great dinner and a few awards presented. This new way of having the reception is working well and I have attended two of them so far. They are much more interesting and shorter and I believe you will enjoy the time spent.
Please come on out and see what I am talking about. Another favor?
