Scheduling (February 2005)

This article is directed to Brother Masons who use the Masonic Monitor as the primary means of keeping in touch.  Ten years ago we had no Internet and the means of communication was simpler and slower.  It's easy to forget this and since the web sites of the Grand Lodge and lodges of our District have a calendar, one can assume the information is there and accurate.  Our Grand Lodge web site had a small error on the calendar which has been changed.

The District Four reception for our Grand Master MWB Satoru Tashiro will be Saturday, March 26, 2005 at Greenwood Masonic Center.  Dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. with the meeting and reports to follow at 7:30 p.m.

We will discuss this at the upcoming D4 MLA parties, January 24 at Occidental and February 28 at Doric.  (C'mon, who wants to attend another meeting; a party sounds like a lot of fun!)  I have not heard any response regarding Pillars of Progress and will deal with it accordingly.  I am especially interested in a Brother worthy of an award for lifetime achievement, any nominations?

My official visits will be mostly at the February stated meetings, February 1 - Doric; February 2 - Greenwood; February 3 - Green Lake; February 17 - Occidental; February 24 - Walter F. Meier.  Since Maritime meets every other month, I will visit them in an Official capacity on March 14.  All meetings are at 7:30 p.m. with an early bird dinner at 6:30 p.m.  I do not expect a special program from the Lodge and will not take up too much time.  I do expect the proper escort and introduction and on any other visit I am happy to simply be a visiting Brother.

District Four has three new Masters which is a good sign of health.  I am hoping the Past Masters going through again can help support these Brothers and learn new ways of running things that will make their lodges stronger.  February 5 we will be conducting the Secrets of the Chair.  This is open to Past Masters only.  Contact WB Al Luberts for more information.

March 11, 12, and 13 will be the Warden's workshop in Wenatchee.  I highly recommend this for all the Wardens who can attend.  If you don't pick up anything on how to run your Lodge, you at least get to network and meet the other Brothers who will be in the East at the same time.  Perhaps we could call it the Warden's summit, fly everyone by helicopter with their staff and armed escort to receive proper diplomatic recognition.  OK close your eyes and pretend. Your reality never exceeds your dreams.
